Lindsey Oil Refinery - Blast Resistant Buildings
Total has been present in the UK for more than 50 years and is a major energy player and leading oil and gas operator on the UK Continental Shelf. They are currently investing in their Lindsey Oil Refinery in North Lincolnshire to modernise production, increase energy efficiency and lower emissions.
As part of this investment Premier was asked to provide two blast resistant buildings to petrochemical standards.
The 28-bay 2-storey block provides a canteen and office facility; whilst the 9-bay will be used as a security and first aid facility.
Both buildings have been clad with composite panels, with fully sheeted 5mm steel underneath the cladding on the walls and roof. All windows and doors are blast proof and H2S gas detection has also been incorporated into the design, whilst man-safe protection and cat ladders have been fitted to the exterior of both buildings.
Premier’s ability to provide such specialist buildings shows the versatility and design expertise that we have which means we can work within many varied sectors.
