Apprentice Planner

 

Location: Brandesburton, East Yorkshire
Reports To: Planning Manager

 

The Role:

Provide support to the Planning team to ensure the team can deliver the highest level of service to pre-construction projects, live projects and post contract internal and external customers. Contributing to project success while learning best practices, and developing skills in areas like health and safety, risk management, and project controls. The successful candidate will work with experienced planners and project teams to learn how to develop project plans, estimate durations, and utilise planning software.

 

Experience, Qualifications & Training:

  • Maths and English GCSE: A minimum of grade 4 in Maths and English GCSE.
  • Self-Motivation & Organization: Ability to prioritize workload and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy in planning and programming tasks.
  • Enthusiasm for the Built Environment: Passion for the construction industry and a desire to learn and develop.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Support the team: Provide support to the Planning Manager and Planning team.
  • Planning & Programming: Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, understanding sequencing, and estimating activity durations.
  • Health & Safety: Apply health and safety policies and procedures in planning and programming, contributing to risk identification and management.
  • Project Controls: Support monitoring, control, and progress reporting for ongoing projects.
  • Software Proficiency: Gain proficiency in various planning software and platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, including senior planners, to implement changes and updates to the project program.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using various techniques.
  • Risk Management: Contribute to the identification and management of risks associated with planning and programming.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Engage in continued professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
