BOM Administrator (6 Month FTC)

11/05/26 Design Division Location: Brandesburton Reports to: Material Scheduler Manager

Purpose:

The Material Scheduler Administrator is responsible for ensuring the accurate creation, maintenance, and control of material data, BOM structures, and production information to support efficient factory operations and project delivery. Acting as the primary point of contact for BOM and material-related queries, the role ensures part codes, sub-assemblies, and associated documentation are correctly established and maintained within the ERP system.

 

The role supports production planning by releasing shop orders in line with weekly forecasts, monitoring material availability, and proactively liaising with factory and project teams to resolve shortages, delivery risks, and demand changes. Through close collaboration with design, manufacturing, and supply chain functions, the Material Scheduler Administrator helps maintain data integrity, supports programme certainty, and contributes to consistent, on-time delivery. Strong working relationships across the wider Premier team are fundamental to the role, ensuring clear communication, shared ownership of issues, and continuous operational improvement.

 

Experience, Qualifications & Training:

· GCSEs (or equivalent) at minimum, including Mathematics and English

· Ability to accurately quantify and schedule materials from construction and manufacturing drawings

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for data analysis and reporting

· Strong work ethic with a proactive, positive, and approachable attitude

· Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing workload and time to meet production deadlines

· High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in material schedules and system data

· Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal

· Willingness to develop skills in reading design and technical drawings and undertaking material take-offs

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise urgent or critical material requirements

 

Principle accountabilities:

· Develop and maintain standard BOM templates to drive consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across the Bill of Materials team

· Act as the first point of contact for all Bill of Materials (BOM) queries, providing timely and accurate support

· Create new part codes, ensuring all required fields are completed correctly and in accordance with company standards

· Create, manage, and maintain standard sub-assemblies within the IFS system

· Maintain accurate document links and associations to parts and sub-assemblies within the system

· Release shop orders in line with weekly production forecasts and programme requirements

· Support general system and data housekeeping to maintain accuracy and integrity

· Attend and actively contribute to daily and weekly project and production meetings

· Liaise closely with the Factory to manage shortages, deliveries, and changing demand

· Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across the wider Premier family
