IT Security Analyst

11/05/26 IT Location: Brandesburton Reports to: Infrastructure and Security Manager

Purpose:

· We are seeking an IT Security Analyst to join us to strengthen our organisations security posture and cyber resiliency. A part of this role will involve detecting and responding to security threats, performing vulnerability fixes across the estate, and ensuring that Premier complies with industry standards and regulations.

· The role-holder will have a passion for all items relating to cybersecurity and who thrives in working collaborative environments. They will work alongside the Infrastructure Operations and Technical Services team, ensuring that best practices of security are being conducted over the whole estate.

· This role will play a crucial role in ensuring that all Premiers tangible and intangible assets are protected. The successful candidate will work closely with the Infrastructure and Security Manager, recommending new practices and technologies which will further strengthen the cyber resiliency of the organisation.

Experience, Qualifications & Person Spec:

Essential Skills

· 2–4 years of experience in a cybersecurity or infrastructure security role.

· Proficient with tools such as SIEM platforms and vulnerability scanners.

· Superior knowledge of Detection Response solutions (E.G. EDR, XDR and MDR).

· Solid understanding of common attack vectors, security principles, and risk-based thinking.

· Effective communication skills, with the ability to document findings and engage stakeholders clearly.

· Working knowledge of compliance frameworks like ISO 27001 and NIST.

· Working knowledge of Data Privacy and Laws such as GDPR and Data Protection Act.

· Comfortable investigating incidents and proposing technical and procedural improvements.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

· Solid understanding of Email Security Gateway Technologies.

· Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

· Current Driving Licence Desirable Skills / Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field.

· Microsoft Accreditations

· CompTIA Security+

· CISSP Associate · Experience with ERP solutions

· Other Cyber security Qualifications

· Familiarity with the Azure platform

· Scripting or Automation knowledge

 

Principle Accountabilities

· Develop, monitor, and mature our SIEM solution.

· Ongoing development and monitoring of IDS/IPS, Detection Response solutions and other threat detection systems.

· Analyse incidents and coordinate appropriate responses, including containment and escalation.

· Perform vulnerability scanning and assist with remediation, tracking and reporting of vulnerabilities identified.

· Collaborate with Infrastructure Operations and Technical Services to implement secure configurations and secure the estate.

· Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and controls.

· Ensure that compliance efforts of the organisation are aligned to standards such as ISO27001, GDPR and NIST.

· Conduct regular user awareness activities, including phishing simulations and training and internal initiatives to uplift reduce human-factor risks.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.

· Develop the protection of digital assets including security, backup, restoration, and disaster recovery and align the solutions with business objectives.
