Lifting the roof off our factory: Behind the scenes of modular

05/09/25 Premier Modular Factory

One of offsite manufacturing’s biggest benefits is it’s built – you guessed it – offsite! The majority of the construction work is undertaken in a factory setting, but what actually goes on between drawing up plans and delivering modules to site ready for installation?

Did you know:

  • 150 projects on average journeying through our factories each month/year.
  • Offsite construction is on average 50% quicker than traditional construction methods.
  • Our temporary products have extended lifecycles – repurposed or reused multiple times over the course of their 40+ year lifespan.
  • Our permanent structures are as they state – permanent. Life spans at over 60 years.
  • Our factories operate on 100% renewable energy.
  • We send zero waste to landfill – 66% of waste is recycled and the remaining 34% is converted to energy.
  • Use recycled steel and sustainably sources such as Siberian larch cladding.
  • Our entire fleet of forklift trucks are electrified.

Bringing design to life

From fabricating fundamental structural components to installing mechanical and electrical elements, each module is built in a controlled factory environment, to precise manufacturing standards. In the video we see our teams doing everything from working through designs and measuring up internal walls to ensuring the modules are well insulated, ready to become anything from a specialist school that caters to SEND students’ needs, to an outpatient unit or a wellbeing space.

Watch how the modules come to together – across all three factory floors.

Quality assurance in action

Leading with the highest standards of quality and delivering only the best to our customers, our offsite construction provides unlimited opportunities through enhanced precision and quality control, as well as faster delivery and increased worker safety, too. Manufacturing our modules in a controlled factory environments means they meet industry compliance requirements and regulations, every time.

Less waste, more impact

Our modules are made to order – with precision and purpose, using low and zero carbon technologies. Material waste is minimised across the manufacturing process with none sent to landfill, and the ability to continually reuse and repurpose our rental modules significantly reduces embodied carbon.

The result? A building method that is sustainable, high quality, delivered at pace and supports a circular economy.
