The latest news and insights from Premier Modular.
As another year draws to a close, we organised our annual sit down with our CEO David Harris to reflect on the biggest achievements and reflections from 2025 and pick his brains about what’s next for the company as we enter 2026.
2025 has been a particularly busy year for Premier Modular and the construction industry as a whole. With so much investment and focus from the government, not just into the sector itself but into defence, health, education and the public sector as well, it’s encouraging to know that these projects will be boosting, not just construction companies, but the entire supply chain, as well as creating jobs and providing much needed services.
We’ve had so many things happen this year it’s difficult to pick just one, however, for me, a particular highlight from the beginning of the year was when we welcomed Chancellor Rachel Reeves to our headquarters in Brandesburton. We gave her a tour of the factory, she met some of our incredible team and we were able to discuss how modular construction can support the government’s growth agenda. She saw for herself the precision manufacturing involved in making our modules, which doesn’t just make them a quality product but also able to be delivered quickly and sustainably.
We’ve completed a number of projects this year that will have profound impacts on local communities, everything from hospitals, to schools, to fire stations. Two that stand out for me is providing a much needed extension to St Mary’s Hospital, situated on the Isle of Scilly. The logistics of this alone were a mammoth task. The team worked incredibly hard, everything from the design, transportation and installation required intense planning and bespoke changes to make this possible.
In the end we successfully delivered 29 modules to the islands, by boat. This meant that the 2,300 people who live on the Isles had access to top quality healthcare facilities and don’t necessarily have to be airlifted to the mainland. It’s projects where we really make a difference that have a lasting impact, as well as showing the potential and possibilities of modular.
We also completed our largest ever education project to date at Greenshaw High School. When they were selected to be part of the school re-build programme, they required a high quality decant school to ensure students’ education was uninterrupted. Comprising of two three-storey buildings and a whopping 186 modules, it was not just large-scale but complex and required immense mechanical, electrical and plumbing coordination to meet the Department of Education’s high standards. Ultimately, this project helped hundreds of pupils have continued access to the necessary resources while their main school building was being refurbished.
We’ve continued our commitment to supporting our employees into 2025, and to date our culture is one of the things I’m the most proud of – keeping the family business feel, of support and challenge, even as we grow. We’ve done this through a number of employee wellbeing campaigns and initiatives, a packed social events calendar and a dedication to putting our people first. It was great for this to be recognised at the Business Innovation Awards, where we won the ‘best approach to company culture and wellbeing.’
Our focus on training and upskilling our staff has meant that our team accomplished a number of professional achievements. For example, our apprenticeship programme celebrated a record year, as it expanded to include three more business divisions, and we can still boast a 100% pass rate and 100% employment once they have graduated.
