CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Our Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy is based on four key areas:
Sustainability: We are committed to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment - in our factories, on site and in our offices - and are accredited to ISO14001:2015 for Environmental Management.
All waste from our factories is recycled or composted and our products have a low environmental impact and far exceed current Environmental Performance Requirements for energy conservation and emissions.
Community: We recognise the importance of preserving local traditions by supporting local businesses wherever possible and adopting a responsible approach to the impact of our business on the community around us.
Premier is also committed to supporting charities and initiatives – both regionally and nationally.
People: We aim to provide a safe and fulfilling work environment; promoting teamwork coupled with the sharing of best practice to allow individuals to excel, be respected, valued and able to develop within the business. We expect adherence to good, strong and honest business ethics and practice.
Our Investors in People accreditation illustrates the importance we place on the management of our people.
Clients: We are committed to providing a quality and value for money product which has been manufactured in a safe, fully accredited, compliant and sustainable manner, complemented with a strong, comprehensive service ethic.
Premier operates a strong health and safety leadership that enforces a zero tolerance attitude to non-compliance that ensures health, safety and welfare are not compromised.
WHISTLE BLOWING: We recognise our obligations to our employees to maintain the highest ethical standards. Sometimes, however, employees are placed in vulnerable positions where they become aware of illegal activities or behaviour which is not in keeping with our values.
To assist employees, we have appointed Whistle Blowers (Pty) Ltd, to provide an anonymous way for employees to confidentially report activities that may represent improper conduct or violations of our policies.
We will not tolerate any retaliatory actions against any employee for making a good faith report about potential misconduct.
THE MODERN SLAVERY ACT 2015: Premier strictly prohibits the use of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain.
We are committed to social responsibility and have zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking. As part of this commitment, we comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and prohibit the use of forced, bonded (including debt bondage) or indentured labour, involuntary prison labour, slavery or trafficking of persons. Furthermore we hold our supply chain accountable in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and consider each supplier’s conduct when awarding and/or renewing business with the supplier. A copy of our signed Modern Slavery Transparency Statement can be downloaded at the foot of this page.
OUR BUSINESS PRINCIPLES: We have adopted a common set of business principles across the business which are known as “TAP the Best Team”. These are integrated into the day-to-day management of our business.
T – Transparency
All staff are appraised of the performance, current challenges and risk areas for Premier. Managers and employees are encouraged to highlight any problems so that these can be resolved at an early stage.
A – Accountability
Our managers and staff are held accountable for their actions, within clear lines of responsibility.
P – Performance
The performance management process starts with managers and employees jointly agreeing performance objectives for the year and then developing a balanced scorecard.
B – Best Practice
We strive to be the very best at what we do.
T – Teamwork
We recognise that teamwork produces superior performance and that we share, support and learn from each other.
