Health and safety is very important at Premier Modular which is why we aim for ZERO incidents in our work place.
We believe that when we see a hazard with the potential to create harm, due to either an individual’s actions or omissions or an unsafe or dangerous condition we must always act and do what’s right so we do not have to deal with the far less palatable potential outcomes.
We encourage all our employees to always report any hazards/defects/unsafe behaviour or anything they believe to be a safety, environmental or quality issue. We call these Target Zero Observation Report’s (TZOR’s) and every month we conduct a draw of all the TZOR’S submitted.
The winner receives £25 for themselves and £25 to donate to a charity of their choice.
This month our Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, Tony Frost won the draw. Tony submitted a report regarding a operative using a 4” grinder without the correct safety eyewear.
At the time Tony discussed the incident with the operative and highlighted the potential to lose his sight and the impact it would have on him, his family, colleagues and all those who would have had to deal with his blindness.
Tony chose to donate his full £50 prize to the Royal British Legion. They help members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families all year round. They also campaign to improve their lives, organise the Poppy Appeal and remember the fallen.
The Poppy Appeal, The Royal British Legions biggest fundraising campaign, will begin soon and here at Premier Modular we will wear our poppies a symbol of remembrance for the fallen service men and women killed in conflict. For more information on the Royal British Legion and their work click here.
